Open kitchen fixing New American fare in a warm space with communal tables, dinner series & classes.

Ciao Thyme’s lunch cafe is designed to elevate the Bellingham lunch experience.  They hope to provide delicious food, a friendly atmosphere and just enough service to keep you comfortable, without being full-service.  Guests order at the cafe counter from a menu that changes every month.  You can choose ala carte items from the menu and sometimes they have additional daily specials. Once you have ordered, make your way down the hallway to the dining room where you will find family-style tables.  Choose a seat and they will bring out your lunch when it’s ready.  

The menu will change with the farm produce of the seasons.  There is no pretense in this space, just high quality ingredients prepared with care and delivered with love.  Folks come knowing they can trust that the food that is prepared here will be sourced responsibly.  They know that by choosing Ciao Thyme, their dining dollars will go farther in this community to support local families, local farmers, and other small businesses in Bellingham--keeping the community thriving.

Local sailor spots orcas in Bellingham Bay

BELLINGHAM Josh Marshall lives on a boat, works on boats and goes sailing several times a week, but after eight years living here he’s never seen an orca — until Monday night. Marshall went sailing with friends on Bellingham Bay May 2, but winds were light and most other boats headed in to Squalicum Harbor. When the winds finally kicked up, Marshall “started scooting across” the bay when he spotted a pod of orcas near Whatcom Waterway and the former Georgia-Pacific site on Bellingham’s waterfront. “They came right up to our bow and were being playful. They were goofing off like dolphins,” Marshall said.
