Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen

Chuckanut Brewery and Kitchen is a long-running brewpub with a large covered patio serving locally sourced pizza, pub grub & seafood. 

Owners Mari and Will Kemper have brought quality craft beers to their customers across America, Mexico and Turkey since 1984 and are glad to bring guests their exceptional beer in inspiring, friendly, and lively environments both in Bellingham and Burlington, WA. Chuckanut has won both Small Brewpub/Brewer 2009 and Small Brewing Company/Brewer 2011 at the national Great American Beer Fest (GABF), the largest craft beer competition in the world. Chuckanut distributes it’s beer throughout Washington State! The new South Nut (Burlington) production facility includes a Tap Room welcoming all ages and encourages you to bring food or enjoy some from our daily food trucks. Chuckanut Brewery & Kitchen (North Nut) is passionate about offering the best in local, fresh foods to pair with Chuckanut’s awesome beers. All ages are welcome in the dining room, waterside patio, and covered outdoor space. The bar is for those over 21 years of age.

Local sailor spots orcas in Bellingham Bay

BELLINGHAM Josh Marshall lives on a boat, works on boats and goes sailing several times a week, but after eight years living here he’s never seen an orca — until Monday night. Marshall went sailing with friends on Bellingham Bay May 2, but winds were light and most other boats headed in to Squalicum Harbor. When the winds finally kicked up, Marshall “started scooting across” the bay when he spotted a pod of orcas near Whatcom Waterway and the former Georgia-Pacific site on Bellingham’s waterfront. “They came right up to our bow and were being playful. They were goofing off like dolphins,” Marshall said.
